CIVLS IMPROVEMENTSOn Line Tax Collector Capabilities • Real Time Put-ons / Take-offs • CIVLS will provide Tax Collectors access to a “Portal” to do real time put-ons and take-offs so that the customer can go back home and register (i.e. renew) their registrations on-line • DMV would also support the Towns processing the renewals for their citizens at a fee not to exceed $2 (and/or no fee if the Town prefers) so the customer can have a one-stop experience with their local Municipality • As with any new service offering, the DMV would advise speaking with Municipal Corporate Counsel prior to exercising this option. 14
CIVLS IMPROVEMENTSOn Line PORTAL Tax Collector Capabilities • The CIVLS Web Portal will allow the Collectors to process real time put-ons and take-offs. • To access the DMV portal you will need: • A PC with access to the Internet • A web browser. The User ID will be obtained through a DMV Administrator. • Specific information regarding the start of the testing process will be provided at a later date.
