  2. Steps to Graphing 1. Make an x, y table • Select any 3 numbers for the x value • Plug in the values for x to get 3 y values 2. List the 3 coordinates 3. Plot the 3 coordinates & Draw line w/ arrows 4. Label line & axis

  3. How to Graph a line on a Graphing Calculator • Solve for y= • Go to y= and type in calculator • Hit 2nd , Table to copy/verify table • Hit “Graph” to graph the line

  4. Special Situations when Graphing 1. Dealing with Fractions – Selected numbers that the denominator can go into evenly • Use graphing calculator and pick points that come out even 2. Graphing y = 3 • Make table and have all values for y be a 3 • Use graphing calc and copy table • Graphing x = 5 • Make table and have all values for x be a 5 • Note: Can’t Use Calc to graph x = 5
