  3. Curriculum Overview • The present programme is an attempt to design a curriculum providing students with a broad-based education with emphasis on laboratory and analytical methods and their biological applications. Students will study the major theoretical and practical aspects of biological phenomena and this degree will appeal to students wishing to follow a course with a strong practical component. • The Applied Biology Programme offers three topical subprogrammes (Healthcare, Agricultural and Food Science Biotechnology) attractive to various stakeholders – school and University students, TSU staff, other Georgian and EU Universities, Georgian and EC employers. • The BSc students are offered to undertake an industrial placement to experience first-hand the application of biology in industrial situations that can not only provide practical skills training, but also enhance valuable transferable skills.

  4. Curriculum Overview 4 years, 8 semesters The course structure is modular and all academic and examination results are quoted as credits according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) Includes: • Biology core • Choice of area of emphasis • Working placement • Research Project

  5. ProgrammeStructure • 1 ECTS = 25 hours of study
