Project PATOV • Actual technologies for measuring the contamination in Cleaning in Place (CIP) waste water are slow (~10min) • The aimisto find a newtechnologyfor online verification • Implementing an IR technology (~1 measurementevery 1-30s) • Realisedwithintheproject PATOV, financedbythe 7th Framework Program ofthe EU
Project PATOV • Experimental CIP plant installed at Vienna University of Technology • Plant is able to reproduce a CIP procedure • Resultsachievedwiththe IR equipmentarevalidatedwith offline TOC (total organiccarbon) measurements • PATOV isplacedclosetothe CIP plant tomeasurethecontamination in the CIP processwater

Project PATOV Actual Status of the Project • At the moment it is possible to make a measurement every second • Down to a concentration of 20ppm • Retention time from the CIP plant to the PATOV unit was brought down to 15s • Only one contaminant can be measured at the moment, the calibration for other contaminants, like proteins is planned
