  3. DMAR Board of Directors Election The DMAR Board of Directors election will take place July 16, 2014. DMAR REALTOR® members will elect four Directors, one for each district (North, West, Central, and South/East) for three-year terms and one Director for the Central district for a 2-year term beginning October 1, 2014. Directors serving 3-year terms will be elected at large by the general membership of DMAR and the Director serving a 2-year term will be elected by the Central District members. Districts provide a means by which REALTORS® in geographic areas may easily network, meet, develop programs, and maintain local identity.
  4. Application Deadline May 16, 2014 The Nominating Committee will be meeting soon to nominate candidates for Director Positions. If you have an interest in being considered by the Committee, please complete an on-line application. Note: Members who wish to run for a Director position but are not nominated by the Committee may petition a nomination by obtaining the petition form. The petition must be signed by 20 REALTOR® members and returned to DMAR by June 13, 2014.

  7. Upcoming Leadership Event You’re invited! Denver City Council Luncheon The annual Denver City Council luncheon, a must attend event that provides DMAR’s members with  up close and personal interaction with council representatives. As an association with over 5,000 members, it’s important that DMAR continue to build relationships with elected officials who protect the industry by promoting REALTOR® friendly policy.   The Association is currently working on a variety of issues in Denver including affordable housing and landmark designation. We encourage our members to attend and share their thoughts with Council on these and key issues.
  8. Join us for the Denver City Council Luncheon Thursday, May 22, 2014 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wellshire Inn 3333 S. Colorado Boulevard Denver, CO 80222 Special Note: The event cost is $25 with all proceeds going directly to the REALTOR® Political Action Committee, a fund used to support REALTOR® friendly candidates and issues at the national, state and local level.
  9. RPAC - REALTOR® Political Action Committee Since 1969, the REALTOR® Political Action Committee has promoted the election of pro-REALTORS® candidates across the United States. The purpose of RPAC is clear: REALTORS® raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support their interests. The money to accomplish this comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®. These are not members’ dues; this is money given freely by REALTORS® in recognition of how important campaign fundraising is to the political process. RPAC doesn’t buy votes. RPAC enables REALTORS® to support candidates that support the issues that are important to their profession and livelihood.
  10. DMAR Committees & Task Forces Join the best of the best!
  11. Government Affairs Committee Purpose Benefit to Member provides input on public policy issues to the Board of Directors. The committee identifies issues of concern to the real estate industry, studies the issues and develops policy positions for consideration by the Board of Directors. DMAR works with elected officials and community leaders to make sure we have great quality of life in our communities which means a healthy real estate market and industry.
  12. Global Business & Alliances Committee Purpose Benefit to Member encourages and supports international real estate, presents programs designed to provide education on real estate markets and issues around the world, and to create networking opportunities for members involved in international real estate.
  13. Audit & Investment Committee Purpose Benefit to Member recommends revisions to the Association’s fiscal and investment policies; meets annually with outside financial auditor; reviews audited financial statements and reports to the Board of Directors; reviews DMAR’s long-term investments and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  14. Communications Advisory Committee Purpose Benefit to Member serves as the advisory group on marketing and communications for DMAR. Members represent the perspective of the member and act as a think tank to determine how to effectively communicate with the members.
  15. YPN – Young Professionals Network Purpose Benefit to Member provides opportunities for members to network, seek educational opportunities, or come together for special events or community service projects.
  16. Community Service Committee Purpose Benefit to Member promotes member participation and raises funds for community service events and charitable causes including but not limited to CARHOF (Colorado Association of REALTORS Housing Opportunity Foundation).
  17. District Coordinating Committee Purpose Benefit to Member Each district (North, West, Central, and South/East) has a coordinating committee to provide a means by which members in each geographic region may easily network, develop programs of local interest whether community service, social, or special events.
  18. Professional Development Committee Purpose Share your ideas provides input on topics of interest, instructors, and delivery methods.
  19. Professional Standards Committee Purpose Benefit to Member Professional Standards Hearing Panel members are selected from this committee to hear ethics complaints and requests for arbitration. Training is required.
