The whole New Testament was finished within 50 or so years. There were eight authors of the New Testament: Matthew was originally a tax collector Mark was an ordinary (regular) disciple, without much education Luke was a Gentile physician John was a common person, he was a fisherman, without much education Paul was a lawyer, a Jewish scholar, he was very well educated James was a common person without much education Peter was a fisherman Jude was a common person without much education also
The New Testament is divided into three sections: · Books of History: Matthew through Acts The four Gospels plus the Acts are five books on history. The four Gospels covers the experiences of the Lord Jesus on earth together with the experiences of His disciples. The book of Acts shows us how the disciples testified for the Lord, their activities, their moves, their work · The Epistles: Romans through Jude speak of the Christian experiences (Paul wrote 14 of them from Romans through Hebrews) · The book of Prophecy: There is only one book, the book of Revelation
BOOKS OF HISTORY The writer (s) and the place The New Testament at its beginning presents four biographies. The Gospel of Matthew—It was written by Matthew, also called Levi. He was originally a tax collector, his origin was not honorable. His Gospel was probably written in Judea. The Gospel of Mark– It was written by Mark, also called John. He was a very common disciple. His Gospel was probably written in Rome. The Gospel of Luke–It was written by Luke. He was a Gentile, probably an Asiatic Greek, and a physician. His Gospel was probably written in Caesarea a gentile land, while the Apostle Paul was in prison there. The Gospel of John–It was written by John, the son of Zebedee. He was a fisherman in Galilee. His Gospel was written perhaps in Ephesus. It was written to all Jewish and Gentile believers. The Acts of the Apostles-Lukewrote the book of Acts. It may have been written in Rome. This book does not have an ending.

James-This epistle was written by James, a flesh brother of the Lord Jesus. It was probably written in Jerusalem. 1 and 2 Peter-Theseepistles were written by Peter in Babylon and in Jerusalem. 1, 2 and 3 John-Theseepistles were written by John in Ephesus. Jude-This book was written by Jude. Both Jude and James were brothers of the Lord Jesus in the flesh. It may have been written in Jerusalem or Judea. THE BOOK OF PROPHECY The Apostle John wrote the book of Revelationwhile he was in exile on the island of Patmos.
