Some classes had interactive audience activities.

Lonsdale Heights CPC-7 Schoolthe plans … • We will be linking the opening idea, Play Ground, and the Come Out theme, ‘Once upon a time’ to create a whole school experience. • The plan is to have children walk with their banners to the local community centre and use the grounds for a shared morning tea, games, sport, skateboarding and play on the playground.
Lonsdale Heights CPC-7 Schoolthe plans … • During the children’s play we will be filming a story created by the whole school in parts. • Each class will write a piece of the story. • We will begin the media presentation with a recognition of our land by our Aboriginal Education Worker. • The story will then be narrated and acted out as it is recorded by media to be showcased later to the community at an assembly.
Lonsdale Heights CPC-7 School • Due to wet weather the school was unable to follow through with their original idea. • They met in the gym as a whole school and read the story that they whole school has been putting together. This story was a huge success, bringing together creative imagination and school virtues. It is being made into a media presentation. • The whole school also danced the hokey pokey together.
Magill Junior Primary SchoolPlay Ground • On Tues May 8th, all Magill Junior Primary School children were involved in a morning of 'old fashioned' games. Grandparents and 'special visitors' were invited. • Each class set up an activity and then all twelve classes rotated through a sequence of activities and games including egg and spoon races, sack races, spinning hula hoops and so on.
Magill Junior Primary School • Some classes worked on a Past Games and Toys topic and prepared for Play Ground day by interviewing an adult, or researching games of the past. • The Junior Primary choir sang the Play Ground song, which was beautiful. • Grandparents and parents loved the day and the weather was perfect.
Magill Junior Primary Schoolother Come Out activities • All classes attended 'Hickory Dickory Dock‘. • For ‘Off the Wall’ each class will set up a display of paper works that have been developed as a result of using random verbs provided by artist, Roy Ananda as a starting point. • Each class will choose their own interpretation of the ‘Universal Story' to follow through on class based activities during the term. • During Week 1 of Term 3 eight classes will work with artist Audrey Emery on a perspective activity relating to the theme of 'Universal Story’.
Port Vincent Primary School • The school got involved with the Come Out Power Guernsey Competition as part of the Arts and Health and PE programs. • There were whole school discussions about the colours to be used, types of designs and the impact different designs would have on players and followers.
Port Vincent Primary School • Reproducing the designs and the manufacturing process were also discussed. • Students spent individual time in their classroom developing their designs. • Designs were then displayed as a group and critiqued. • The final submission was then completed and entries were sent through as a school pack.
Play Ground – Early Years • Early Years students had special activities in the JP playground • Early Years students created Rainbow Snakes after hearing the story. • Teachers had a wet weather contingency ready just in case. • They also commented on the usefulness of the Come Out 2007 Resource Pack for Teachers.
Play Ground – Primary Years • Primary Years had a rotation of play activities such as skipping, marbles and hoops, hopscotch, continuous cricket, ball in stocking and playing on the Primary Play equipment. • They were also involved in indoor activities such as junk sculpture, Mulga Bill’s bicycles (silhouette bicycles) Aboriginal Dreaming, where children wrote stories for an Australian Studies display.
