  2. Mardi Gras! • Where do people celebrate Mardi Gras? In France. • When is Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras is on the Tuesday before Lent. • What is Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras is a celebration where you eat crepes. • Why do you eat crepes? You eat crepes because it is the day before Lent and on Lent you give up something you love for a year maybe chocolate. • When is Lent? Lent is before Easter.

  3. Mardi Gras! • What do children do on Mardi Gras? Children wear fancy dresses or clothes to school. Sometimes the school organise some competitions and the best dresses or clothes wins a prize. • What do adults do on Mardi Gras? Adults celebrate by doing parades in the city streets. They also carry flaming torches at night. They also have special parties at their friends homes and restaurants.

  4. Mardi Gras! • What does Mardi Gras mean? Mardi Gras means Fat Tuesday which is also called pancake day. • What are the flaming torches called? The flaming torches are called flambeaux.
