  4. Matter – • Anything that has mass and occupies space

  5. Periodic Table – Elements are organized in a table of elements called the Periodic Table of Elements

  6. Proton – • A positively charged particle in the nucleus of an atom

  7. Saturated – • Combined with or containing all the solute that can be dissolved without changing the temperature

  8. Dilute – • Having little solute in a solution in comparison with the amount of solvent

  9. Concentrated – • Having a large amount of solute in a solution in comparison with the amount of solvent

  10. Chemical change - • The change of a substance into a different substance with different properties

  11. Physical change - • A change in some properties of matter without forming a different kind of matter

  12. Chemical equation - • A formula that describes a chemical reaction

  13. Atom - • The smallest particle of an element that has all the properties of an element

  14. Compound - • A substance made up of a combination of two or more elements held together by chemical bonds that can not be separated by physical means

  15. Electron - • A negatively charged particle moving around the nucleus of an atom

  16. Element - • The basic building blocks of matter ; cannot be separated into parts by chemical means

  17. Neutron – • A particle with no electrical charge in the nucleus of an atom
