23. NW3 Good Neighbours Scheme Lucy is Doreen's current visitor, Throughout a bad 8 months Lucy visited her wherever she was. Lucy has provided company and continuity in Doreen's world. Lucy now joins Doreen to enjoy friendly and chatty visits with a cup of tea.

Medical and dental appointments, going out for coffee to a local café, reading books to people to enable them to remain part of a book club when sight is failing, raising issues about inappropriate or inadequate social or medical care, and of course the weekly visits to those who are completely housebound provides invaluable company.”
