Professional Development Plan If you had an NCEES Summary done in WCPSS last year, you do not need to create a new PDP. One was generated when the Summary was authenticated. Click on the Teacher Task tab to locate it.
Professional Development Plan A PDP of a teacher who transferred schools within WCPSS is coded “Offsite” because it was created based on the Summary done at the former school. These teachers will need to create a New Preliminary PDP.
Professional Development Plan Some teachers may have an authenticated PDP that carried forward from last year in error. It cannot be deleted. These teachers should select New to create a Preliminary Development Plan for this year. These should not be used. Create a Preliminary instead.
Professional Development Plan If you did not have a Summary done in WCPSS last year, the Professional Development Plan field will be empty. You will need to create a Preliminary Development Plan. Click on New.
Preliminary PDP – Create Click on Nextonly if you do not already have a PDP in the Professional Development Plan field.
PDP OR Preliminary PDP • Completing a PDP form is exactly the same whether you are using a PDP created last year or a Preliminary PDP: • Consult your administrator if you do not know your Teacher Status • Enter your Subject Area • Only an administrator can assign a mentor • You should select Individual as your plan type unless directed differently by your administrator.
PDP OR Preliminary PDP You cannot enter information in the section called Professional Development Priorities. Some teachers may have targeted standards/elements based on their prior year’s Summary. Be sure your Plan addresses any targets listed.
PDP OR Preliminary PDP If your PDP does not have targets listed under Professional Development Priorities, you may self-select your own targeted standards/elements. Enter them in the To be Addressed by this Plan section.
PDP – Complete Goals • List “smart” goals in the first column. You do not need to number your goals. Be sure each row addresses a single goal. For each goal complete: • Activities/Actions • Expected Outcomes and Evidence of Completion • Resources Needed • Timeline
PDP – Preparing for Conference You do not need to complete Section B (Activities, Outcomes, etc.) in one sitting. Consult with your mentor, if you have one, to develop your plan. Notify your administrator when your PDP is ready for review. Be sure you bring your personal password to the conference. During your conference, the PDP can be electronically accessed by the administrator to make any necessary edits.
PDP – Preparing for Conference • If you have a mentor: • The mentor must review, enter comments on the mid-year and end-of-year pages, and authenticate your PDP prior to each meeting with your administrator • The mentor may attend review conferences
PDP – Authentication At the end of your conference, your PDP must be authenticated. The administrator will check the signature box first then log out. You must log in separately to authenticate. Do this immediately following your administrator. You will be prompted to enter your personal password. Click on Authenticate. Once a page is authenticated, no changes can be made.
PDP – Mid and End-of-Year Reviews When it is time to prepare for your PDP reviews, click on the Mid-Year Review or End-of-Year Review tab.
PDP – Mid and End of Year Review Enter draft Evidence of Progress descriptions and Teacher Comments. If you have a mentor, s/he must log in separately, enter comments, and authenticate before your conference. Notify your administrator when your PDP is ready for review. You will not authenticate until after your administrator and you have reviewed and edited (if necessary) your PDP.
