Aim of the project • To support the implementation of the ELP in Council of Europe member states by • developing materials and activities in English and French for ELP-related teacher training • mediating the materials and activities in a central workshop (November 2004) • supporting national ELP training events and follow-up projects (2005–06) • making the kit of materials and activities generally available (2007)
Expected outcomes • The materials and activities to be mediated at the central workshop and made available to potential users on CD-ROM and via the ECML website • Up to 40 multipliers at international level (central workshop) and an indefinite number of multipliers at national level (national training events and follow-up projects) • The kit of teacher training materials • Dissemination of results via • online reports on the central workshop, national training events and follow-up projects • a final report on the project compiled by the project team (the booklet that accompanies the kit)
Developing the kit • The Common European Framework: activities, competences, levels (Hans-Peter Hodel) • Self-assessment in relation to the common reference levels: how do I know what level I am at, and how do I prove it? (Dick Meijer) • Learning to learn: a model of reflection for teacher trainers, teachers and learners (Viljo Kohonen) • Learner autonomy: drawing together the threads of self-assessment, goal-setting, reflection (David Little)
Developing the kit 5. Language in the ELP: language(s) of presentation and process; plurilingualism (Radka Perclová) • The intercultural dimension: global simulation (Dick Meijer) • Integrating the ELP with language curricula and textbooks; using the ELP to go beyond the textbook (Viljo Kohonen, Radka Perclová, Hans-Peter Hodel) • Connecting assessment with the ELP and the common reference levels (Hans-Peter Hodel)

Final project output (2007) • A booklet of about 40 pages introducing and contextualizing the ELP and focussing in particular on preparing teachers to use the ELP • An accompanying CD containing • The kit of materials used at the central workshop in November 2004 • Supplementary materials developed by project team members in response to the needs of particular contexts, including national ELP events • Reports on the national ELP events and research and training materials developed in relation to them • All the key ELP reference documents and a selection of publications on related topics
