LCCI Vision for Women Entrepreneurs • LCCI was one of the first Chambers to take-up women entrepreneurs development as a CSR project in Pakistan. • Starting with Women Entrepreneurs Development Committee. • Collaboration with Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) to establish the first Women Resource Centre in Pakistan. • Facilitation for membership and other facilities at the dedicated resource centre. • Training programs in collaboration with CIPE and other private and government organizations. • Regular in-house exhibitions and participation in other fairs and exhibitions. THE NEXT PHASETRAINING, NETWORKING AND ATTENDING FAIRS IN OTHER COUNTRIES • The first delegation was taken to Bangladesh to attend the trade fair and study the market. • The second delegation with the support and sponsorship of the Swedish Chambers of Commerce went to Sweden in May 2011. RECOMMENDATIONS • Swedish support is required in GSP+ negotiation with EU in general and especially for 75 items allowed duty free access to EU for supporting economic recovery of flood-ravaged areas in Pakistan. • The Women Resource Centre has been established in various parts of Sweden with the government funding. These Centers are catering the business women of specific line of field. Pakistan can take advantage of the model and establish liaison between Swedish Resource Centre and local Pakistani Women Resource Centre. • Collaboration can be made with Swedish universities not only in initiating research projects under the banner of university-industry research collaboration but also in terms of transfer of trained faculty combine with student exchange program.
