Further Oral Activity HL and SL Must come from: Part I-Language and Culture OR Part II-Language and Mass Media Presentation must be 10-12 min. Requirements: Must have a reflection: 200-300 words-no less / no more. Reflection must address outcomes of the unit. Rubric graded by the teacher.
WRITING TASK #1: HL and SL Can come from: Part I: Language and Culture Part II: Language and Mass Media Part III: Reader and Text Requirements: Writing task: 800-1000 words-no less/no more Creative-not an essay: diary, opinion column, etc. Rationale-200-300 words-no less/no more Must address the type of text Explain how it meets the outcome from theunit of study. Rubric –graded by the teacher
Writing Task #2 HL only Task can come from : Part I Language and Culture Part II Language and Mass Media Part III: Reader and the text: Novels-Critical Reading:Pygmalion; Great Gatsby; The Reader Requirements: Essay -not creative. Must address one of the six questions. Must be 800-1000 words. Must have an outline-IB form.
Writing Tasks submission: HL only SPECIAL NOTE: Must submit a Writing Task #1 and a Writing Task #2. IF WRITING TASK #1 COMES FROM PARTS I OR II, WRITING TASK #2 MUST COME FROM PART III-NOVELS : THE GREAT GATSBY THE READER PYGMALION IF WRITING TASK #1 COMES FROM PART III NOVELS ABOVE, THEN WRITING TASK #2, MUST COME FROM PARTS I OR II: LANGUAGE AND CULTURE OR LANGUAGE AND MEDIA THIS TASK MUST HAVE: AN OUTLINE-SPECIAL IB FORM. RUBRIC GRADED BY THE TEACHER.

Internal Oral Commentary: SL and HL • Must come from Part IV Critical Works: Raymond Carver’s short stories Shakespeare’s Sonnets Things Fall Apart Requirements: • Must be 10-12 minutes-recorded. • Random text selection from one of the above. • Students receive 20 min. to prep.
