Elements Project You will need your binder for this project as reference as well as coloring materials
For the work you are given to color: • Think first about the emotional response you want to create through your art – write that emotion on the back of the coloring sheet • Then choose how you will use 3 of the 7 elements to achieve that emotion – list those elements on the back of the coloring sheet • Color your sheet precisely and completely (if you very roughly/quickly color in areas of your picture I won’t feel that it’s complete – there shouldn’t be any white space) • Take your time and do a complete job
When done with your art: • You will be required to write a description of your intentions: • Describe each of the three elements you chose to use Completely – Saying simply that you colored the sky blue because that’s how it is really won’t suffice – explain why you thought each element you used would lend to the emotion you wanted to create • Reflect on your work and judge how well you reflected the emotion you chose as well as used the 3 elements
Grade • Complete work/use of class time – 20 pts. • Response: • Elements – 20 pts. • Judgment – 20 pts. • Due – beginning of class Monday • Any Grade lower than 45/60 (75%) will be required to be completely redone on your own time until a 45+/60 is achieved
Elements project make-up • Anyone can redo the project for full credit • Any paper marked “Redo” has a 0/60 and must be redone to receive credit • Due by Thursday • Do not just amend what you have written – Re-write your reflection completely and staple the new draft to the one already turned in
