11. Criteria and Guidelines for CCHD Funding for Local Grants Projects must benefit a poverty group. At least 50% of those benefiting from the project must be from the low-income community. Members of the poverty/low income group must have a dominant voice in the project.

Projects meet unfulfilled needs for which no response is presently being made. • CCHD-funded projects must conform to the moral teaching of the Catholic Church. • Projects should address the basic causes of poverty and effect institutional change. • Projects should directly benefit a large number of people rather than a few individuals. 19. What is Project Rachel? Project Rachel is a post-abortion reconciliation program created in the Catholic tradition. It’s purpose is to heal the psychological and spiritual pain that follows an abortion experience. Support groups are a central component of post-abortion ministries across our country. The Project Rachel Support Group works toward healing the penetrating wounds left in abortion’s aftermath. Find forgiveness, love, peace, wholeness again in the warmth of God’s embracing love for you.
