Mary Stuart (Mary, Queen of Scots) • Daughter of James (V) Stewart and Mary of Guise • Became queen when she was one week old • Sent to France at an early age • 1558 – marriage to the dauphin of France • After husband’s death, Mary returned to Scotland • 1565 – marriage to her first cousin, lord Darnley • 1576 – Danley was found murdered
