Different Types Of Non-Interventional And Interventional Pain Management

For many individuals, pain inflicts sleepless nights and takes a tilt on energy, causing one not to be able to accomplish his/her daily tasks. While hoping for a resolution, patients might learn of interventional pain therapy and non-interventional pain management. However, we see the need to choose among a broad scope of treatment as being a tricky issue. Dr. Michelle has invented here different pain management therapies and their solutions. 1. What is the Difference Between Non-Interventional and Interventional Pain Management? www.drmichelleweiner.com

  2. Introduction Introduction That might be more than a hundred million Americans who are under the impact of chronic pain. ; For a lot of us, it keeps us up at night and freezes us, making us take exhaustive actions. The patient mostly feels stressed and often hears about such things as interventional pain management and non-interventional pain management. Sadly, the multiplicity of the available cure methods makes it a burden to revolve around them, even though the main goal is to make the decision and recover.

  3. Non- Interventional Pain Management A regular doctor’s way of controlling chronic pain is the treatment with non-surgical methods to relieve pain followed by more aggressive treatment options. The aim of treatment that does not include invasive measures is to provide entire pain relief without penetrating or cutting the skin through an injection or surgical process. Some of the non-intervening processes utilize medicinal treatment through drugs. Despite the fact that those medications can be effective for different types of pain, more than medicine is required to cover the background of non-medication, non-invasive pain relief methods.

  4. Types of Non- Interventional Pain Management Procedures Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen (Advil), naproxen (Aleve), and aspirin. Acetaminophen (analgesics) like Tylenol. Muscle relaxants can help treat the pain caused by muscle spasms. Antidepressants and Antiseizure Medications are often helpful in relieving or reducing nerve pain. Corticosteroids are cortisone-like medicines to help reduce swelling, redness, itching, and allergic reactions.

  5. Interventional Pain Management The interventional approach to managing chronic pain for those whose pain has not responded well to medications can be very helpful. The initial interventional pain management techniques can be traced back to 1899, the origins of regional anesthesia and nerve blocks. These procedures help knit the nerve so that it can't send pain signals to the brain for a short while.

  6. Radiofrequency Nerve Ablation is the delivery of precisely controlled radiofrequency waves to heat and destroy nerve tissue to reduce pain signals to the brain. Discography is the injection of a special dye into one or more spinal discs as a diagnostic test to determine if they are the source of pain. The dye makes the disc visible on a fluoroscope monitor and X-ray film. Percutaneous Discectomy/Nucleoplasty is a procedure to remove tissue from the spinal disc to relieve pressure on nerves. Steroids and other medicine injections target pain points in muscles, nerves, and joints to help reduce inflammation and ease pain. The pain pump is a surgically implanted device designed to deliver pain medication directly to the source of pain. Nerve blocks are injections of medicine that interrupt nerve-to-brain signals to relieve pain and help reduce inflammation. They are sometimes used as diagnostic tools. Rhizotomy is a procedure using surgery, chemicals, or electrodes to destroy nerve fibers to stop pain signals. Spinal Cord Stimulation delivers an electrical current to the pain source via a tiny, implanted medical device. Types of Interventional Pain Management Procedures
