Dr. Thomas V Taylor - A Dedicated Doctor and Life-Long Learner

Dr. Michael DeBakey invited Dr. Thomas V Taylor to come to Houston as a Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Taylor held the position for eight years and was then appointed as Chief of Academic Surgery, and Chief of Postgraduate Medical Education, and Surgical Program Director at Saint Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas.

  1. Dr. Thomas V Taylor A Dedicated Doctor and Life-Long Learner Dr. Thomas V Taylor is not just a dedicated doctor, but he was also a dedicated learner for all his life. He started his education at the age of four and attended St Wilfrid's Primary School in Longridge. He continued his education at a high school called Preston Catholic College. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Edinburgh and then at the University of Manchester. After receiving his doctor Doctorate of Medicine degree and completing residency, he became a resident at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in London for one year.

  2. Dr. Thomas V Taylor From England to Texas Dr. Thomas V Taylor is a well-known and successful surgeon. He was born in Longridge, England. After completing his surgical training in the United Kingdom, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England and Edinburgh and obtained a higher surgical training certificate Higher Surgical Training Certificate in general surgery. He was ask asked to come to the United Stated States by Dr. Michael DeBakey and became a Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Taylor is the author of more than 200 academic papers and eight books and holds multiple US Patents.

  3. Dr. Thomas V Taylor A Surgeon with Many Hobbies Dr. Thomas V Taylor has a lot of hobbies and interests outside of work. He played in cricket teams for the villages of Longridge and Chipping and for Manchester Medical School. He obtained some education in mechanics and engineering. During his vacations from schools, he worked in corn meals, a chair- making factory, and a dairy. Dr. Taylor loves music and singing. He sang for Houston Choral Society, Berkshire Choral Society, and Altrincham Choral Society.

  4. Dr. Thomas V Taylor A Surgeon with Many Awards Dr. Thomas V Taylor is an experienced surgeon who has received multiple awards over the span of his career in the medical field. He received the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award from the Department of Surgery at University of Texas Medical Branch in 2009. He has written eight books, over 200 papers, and obtained multiple US Patents. Dr. Taylor was invited by Dr. Michael DeBakey to come to Houston as a Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine where he stayed for eight years.
