Introduction to studiesStudent places • Upon enrollment or re-admission to TUT, a student will specify the study load on the first academic year • Division of study places: • 1) State-comissioned student places (RE in estonian) You will follow • 2)Non-state comissioned student places (REV in Estonian)

Introduction to studiesStudy load • nominal study load per term or the capacity of study according to the curriculum per term is 30 European credit points (ECTS). • student may hold a full-time or partial load • full-load study requires that a student collect at least 22.5 ECTS on a CUMULATIVE basis under the individual study plan by the end of each academic year for each term attended. • partial- study load requires that a student collect at least 15-22 ECTS on a CUMULATIVE basis under the individual study plan by the end of each academic year for each semester attended.

  23. Introduction to studiesState-comissioned student place Having a state-comissioned student place means studing in nominal study (for example master studies 2 years)! Nominal study load per term or the capacity of study according to the curriculum per term is 30 European credit points (ECTS). 30 ECTS in one semester and end of one academic year 60 ECTS

Introduction to studiesAcademic leave • upon a personal request student is entitled to be granted academic leave up to 2 semestersstarting from the second semester • upon health reasons- any time (certificate from doctor) • upon starting a service in the defence forces ( document about call-up notice from defence forces is necessary) • upon a child birth academic leave until the age of a child is three (birth certificate is required)

  33. Introduction to studiesDeclaration • student can choose any subject taught at TUT independent. The subjects not contained in curriculum pursued will be entered in the free choice courses (free study module) • individual study plan must be submitted for the date indicated in the academic calendar 16th of September 17.00.

Introduction to studiesDeclaration in ÕIS • go to website www.ois.ttu.ee • use your ID card or individual username and password • when declaring a subject ,only the subject with a right professor´s name can be taken (for example Fundamentals of Sustainable Energy Engineering- Dieter Meissner • declaration of the subjects in ÕIS (declaration of a subject) will be regarded as a registration for a subject • already submitted study plan can be cancelled and then submitted again until the dealine. Do not leave it for the last minute!!!

Introduction to studiesDeclaration • individual study plan must be submitted for the date indicated in the academic calendar • study plan must be submitted at the beginning of each semester • declaration of the subjects indicates that student is still active, inactive students will be removed from the student list after the red-line day • on the fourth semester, when all the studies are completed and only master thesis left, a 0-declaration must be submitted in ÕIS
