  2. The Glory and Majesty of God, Part 1Selected Scriptures Philippians 2:13 - Do all things without grumbling or disputing Every problem man has is ultimately theological in its foundation The greater your understanding of God and His will, the better able you will be to respond properly

  3. Foundations for Reverence in Worship An overall decline in reverence in worship as society pulls farther away from Biblical standards of behavior The greater your understanding of God, the greater your humility and reverence toward Him - Isaiah 6:5

  4. Foundations for Reverence in Worship Life is to be lived for the glory of God in every area - Colossians 3:17; 1 Cor. 10:31 Every attribute of God is infinite Reducing God to something humanly understandable results in false beliefs about God

Perverting the Nature of God our Creator Evolutionary philosophy has had a negative effect on science & society including the worship of God Doubting Genesis 1 changes the perception of God & results in doubts about the rest of the Scriptures Many false beliefs have become common among professing Christians based on false ideas about God

Perverting the Nature of God our Creator God is a consuming fire and it is terrifying to fall into His hands - Hebrews 10:31; 12:29 The desire for a wimpy and insecure God results in books such as Jesus Calling & The Shack Much of Christianity has shifted to religious experiences designed to make people feel better - not worship

Perverting the Nature of God our Creator Ancient cathedrals, like the Temple, were designed to reflect the glory and majesty of God Modern churches are often designed like a theater to give the congregation religious entertainment The focus has moved from God to people, from the majesty of theology to manipulation by psychology

The Glory & Majesty of God our Creator Majesty refers to that which is impressive in beauty, scale or dignity Glory refers to high renown / honor won by notable achievements & what is magnificent or of great beauty God is majestic and glorious in every respect - as Creator and in all His attributes

  9. The Glory & Majesty of God our Creator Genesis 1 - God created everything in just six days - periods of a sequence of light and dark Genesis and evolution are antithetical to each other and cannot be reconciled for even their order contradicts

  10. Creation – Day 1 God Created: *The heavens *The earth *Light *He separated light & darkness Genesis 1:1-5

  11. Day 2 God makes an expanse in the midst of the waters. He separates the waters above & below the expanse. He called the expanse Heaven Genesis 1:6-8

  12. Day 3a - Genesis 1:9-13 Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”

  13. Day 3b - Genesis 1:11-13 Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seeds, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind”

  14. Day 4 Genesis 1:14-19 God makes the sunfor the day andthe moon for the night.He also makes the starsin the sky

  15. Day 5– Genesis 1:20-23 God creates all the living creatures of the sea God creates all the flying creatures of the air

  16. Day 6 – Genesis 1:24-31 God creates all the land animals & man

  17. Day 7God rests from all His work.He blesses the seventh day and makes it holy.Genesis 2:1–3

  21. Truth Matters Systems built on lies cause irreparable harm and eventually collapse Nazism & Communism have harmed millions and billions & collapse because they run out of wealth to steal

  22. Truth Matters Medications based on falsified experiments harm people and are driven from the market or are sued Social movements built on lies harm both the people that oppose and embrace it : Gender fluidity, racism

  23. Truth Matters Religions based on false beliefs harm others and bring God’s condemnation on its followers

Denial of Genesis results in doubt of the rest of Scriptures If you believe Genesis is false, then logically you would reject the teaching of those who believe it to be true Moses - Exodus 20:11 The various Psalmists - Psalms 121:2; 124:8; 134:3, Psalm 246:6 and Psalm 104:24-25 Solomon - Ecclesiastes 12:1

  25. Denial of Genesis results in doubt of the rest of Scriptures Isaiah - Isaiah 45:18, etc. Jeremiah - Jeremiah 32:17, 51:15 Nehemiah - Nehemiah 9:6 John - John 1:1-3 Peter - 2 Peter 3:3-6 Paul - Colossians 1:16 Hebrews 1:2, 11:3

  26. Denial of Genesis results in doubt of the rest of Scriptures Jesus - Matthew 19:4-5, Mark 13:19

  27. Denial of Genesis removes a primary reason God is majestic and glorious and is to be worshiped As Creator, God is deserving of the worship of everyone of His creatures Those who are humble and recognize the truth find it easy to worship God - and respond as David - Psalm 8
