  3. Grendel Attacks • Grendel attacks Heorot, kills 30 men

  4. Beowulf Comes to Heorot • Beowulf, a great Geat warrior comes to Heorot • He is going to battle Grendel

  5. Grendel Meets Beowulf • Beowulf sleeps in Heorot • Grendel comes to feed • Beowulg kills Grendel

  6. Beowulf is Honored • People come from all over to see the trophy of Grendel’s arm • Beowulf is celebrated and given many gifts

  7. Grendel’s Mom • Grendel’s Mom comes to take back the arm

  8. The Expedition to Grendel’s Mere • Beowulf goes to battle Grendel’s Mom

  9. Beowulf Departs • After killing Grendel’s Mom, Beowulf returns to Geatland

  10. A Hero Returns • Beowulf returns home a hero

  11. Beowulf Becomes King • Hygelic and son die • Beowulf inherits the throne

  12. Battling the Dragon • Beowulf goes to protect his people • He is old and not strong enough to win

  13. Beowulf Dies • Wiglaf helps Beowulf kill the Dragon • Wiglaf becomes the new king

  14. Remembering A King • Wiglaf is king • Beowulf is buried
