Prerequisites for T&I • 1. B.S. Degree & 3-years experience (18 months can be from internship) • 2. Associates Degree & 3-years experience • 3. H.S. Diploma & 5-years experience • 4. Plus State/National Licensure in Specialization
Prerequisites for HSTE • 1. B.S. Degree • 2. A Current License, Registration or Certification as a Heath Professions Practitioner • 3. Two Years of Approved Work Experience
Sequence of Instruction • The CATE professional will take four online courses • The educator then completes an additional six hours of Instructional Internship with a STRONG mentoring component.

INSTRUCTIONAL INTERNSHIP • ATTD 4740/6030 (6 credit hours) • Components include a school- based mentor, university coach and university supervisor for a cohesive transition experience.
Portfolio Development A series of portfolio-builder activities are completed in each of the four certification courses. Portfolio-builder activities will be implemented during the instructional internship.

TExES Exam Prep • Self-study packet to assist HSTE professionals in preparation for the TExES exam.
TExES Review Sessions • Each Fall & Spring:Two review sessions are held to prepare applicants • for the TExES PPR and TExES content exams.
NOCTI ExamNational Occupational Competency Testing Institute • Each Fall & Spring:The written & performance exams will be offered for applicants who do not currently hold a national/ state license in their specialization. • (T&I ONLY)
