CS Education in High Schools • Often not “really” CS • CS10k project – place 10,000 well-trained computer science teachers in 10,000 high schools across the U.S. • Number of students taking CS AP is very low • CS Principles – new curriculum leading to a different (additional) CS AP exam in 2016-7

  3. Teach North Texas • Obtain a bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline in 4 years AND • Get high school teaching credentials at same time • TNT getting kudos – district principals, etc. • CS now added to TNT as a discipline
