Objectives • To consider one person’s observations on leadership. • To reflect on qualities that make a good leader. • To recognize that “leadership” comes in different forms.
Background • TOY • HPE Teacher • K-6 HPE Coordinator • K-12 Department Chair • Lead Teacher • Assistant to the Headmaster • Coach • Chair of Planning Commission • Wrestling Official • President of several organizations
A Few General Observations • Just because you are in a leadership position doesn’t necessarily mean you are a leader. • You don’t have to be THE leader to be a leader. • A leader has an overall vision, sees the big picture, and is the catalyst to move toward that vision.
Here are a few important qualities for a Leader to possess ……………… A good leader provides opportunities for those around him/her to become leaders.
