  10. How do you know that their “first love” refers to the Word of God?

  21. How can I know that I love the Word of God?

  22. 1. I can gage my love for the Word by what I hate

  23. (Psa119:127-128) Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

  24. (Psa 119:104) Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. (Joh 17:17) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

  25. (Psa 119:163) I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.

  26. (Psa 119:113) SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love. (Psa 94:11) The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

  28. (Psa 119:97) MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. (Psa 1:2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

  30. 3. I can gage my love for the Word by the delight you receive from it.

  31. (Psa 119:47) And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

  32. (Joh 4:34) Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. (Psa 40:8) I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. (Jer 15:16) Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

  34. (Psa 119:48) My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.

  35. (Lam 3:40-41) Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

  37. (Psa 119:165) Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

  38. 6. I can gage my love for the Word by your heart desire to obey them

  39. (Psa119:166-167) LORD, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments. My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.

  40. (Rev 2:4) Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. (Rev 2:5) Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
