1. Update Contact Information • Sign into MyRed • Click on the red “records” tab • If any of your information is not correct, email admissions@unl.edu with corrections. UNL will send many important messages to the email account listed in MyRed. Please check this email regularly.
2. Registering for Classes If you are not already enrolled in classes, please consult NSE’s “Academic Powerpoint.”
3. Arriving to Lincoln/ Airport Pickup • You can fly into either Lincoln Municipal Airport (LNK) or Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA). • UNL partners with OMALiNK shuttle service. Use NSE’s promotional codes to receive a discount.
4. What to Pack • Lincoln has four distinct seasons, with highs around 38c in summer and lows of -20c in Winter. Please make sure to pack appropriate clothes. • Consider NSE’s suggestions when packing non-clothes items
5. International Welcome Week International Orientation is a mandatory event that will help you adjust to life at UNL. Please reference the International Orientation Schedule for more details.
6. Immigration During International Welcome Week you will sign up for a time to meet with the International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO), who will verify your VISA documentation. ***You MUST check in with ISSO during this time or face deportation.***

9. Transportation UNL students use Lincoln’s bus system, walking and biking trails, and personal automobiles to get around the city. • All UNL students are provided free bus passes at International Welcome Week. • It is illegal to drive a car in the United States without a legal drivers license. Please reference the Department of Motor Vehicles for more information.
