We Were Enemies • Being God’s enemy clearly removes any neutrality from the non-believer. Agnostics attempt to claim neutrality, but instead they are the enemy • When the lost soul rejects God through suppression (Rom. 1:18) they declare their enemy state
The Death of Christ was Required • The death of Christ on the cross was required to meet the demands of God’s righteous requirement • God’s Holiness could not tolerate the imputation of sin from Adam and instead required that we be imputed with Christ’s righteousness
The Reconciliation Brings Joy • Christ’s Life brings us Joy, Exultation • Prior to this sin caused us temporary moments of happiness, but we could not have the Joy that comes from His wellspring of life
2 Corinthians 5:20 • Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Ambassadors of Reconciliation • As ambassadors we have the responsibility to be representing Christ’s reconciliation • We live out the Life that brings us Joy • We speak with reconciliation on our lips • Our restored relationship should dominate our thought life
