Basic facts • Snow leopards are mammals • Snow leopard have whitish yellowish or smoky grey fur patterned with dark grey rosettes spots • The size of snow leopards is 90 -130 cm long the tail is 80-100 cm long • Snow leopards weigh about 110 pounds
Habitat • The snow leopard is found in some mountainous parts of Asia where it is hot in summer and very cold in winter • The snow leopard’s paws are very broad and act just like snow shoes to keep it from sinking into the deep snow
Diet the snow leopard eats wild goats, deer, and wild pigs. It also eats birds and small mammals such as hares.
Place in The Food Chain • Snow leopard are one of the top predators in the area where they live. • It can prey on a animal 2 or 3 times its size.
Why is This Animal Endangered? Snow leopards are often killed by local farmers because they prey on livestock such as Sheep, goats and yak calves. In some areas domestic animals make up to 58% of the snow leopards' diet.
How Can you Help? • Do NOT KILL SNOW LEOPARDS!!!!
