WHAT IS KMTA? • Kent-Meridian Technology Academy at Kent-Meridian High School • Small learning community • All teachers have taught in a laptop environment for at least 4 years. • Problem-based, community connect &21st century skills environment • Students have some choice in how to learn new material • Focus on science, math, technology => art and creativity • Core classes: Math, Science, Social Studies and English • Core and Honors options offered in English and Social Studies • Accelerated science class for students in higher level math • Transportation is provided

What are some cool facts about KMTA? • 7 of the 21 ASB officers....33%. • 74% are involved with sports • 90% are involved in clubs • 21% hold a leadership position in a sport or club • 73% have 5 or less absences in the last 4 months • 84% use a computer (other than for school work or video games) at home – transferring skills to real life • 91% feel like they know everyone in their KMTA classes • 300/2100 students......14% of the school.
