Introduction • I had many ideas for my magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread. As it was a music magazine I had to pick a genre, these were the genres I came up with;Pop, Rock, R&B, Jazz, Country, Classical, Dance, Indie.
Idea 1 - pop • My target audience would be around 11-20 year olds. Pop magazines mostly appeal to girls rather then boys, reducing the range of my target audience • Bright colours would be used to make it stand out, and draw in my target audience. Blues, oranges and purples are good colours to use.
Idea 2 - dance • My target audience would be around 14-25 year olds. • I would use fairly bright colours that would make my magazine stand out. Reds, Blues andPurples may be good. • DJ magazine is a good example of what I would like to achieve when making my magazine.
Idea 3 – R&B • My target audience would be around 14-26 year olds. • I would use a simple colour scheme that will still be noticed by my target audience. RedsandBlues would be good colours to use. • VIBE magazine is a good example of what I achieve with my magazine. • Magazines like vibe do not just try to cover one genre but a few genres, this is something that I would try to do as it increase the range of my target audience.
