  2. Mr. Hartmann's Helpful Hints • Simply, copy and paste your typed commander notes into a PowerPoint slide and add a picture. • 2. Try to fit a commander on one slide • 3. Students can log in and out if necessary • There is no need for animation • If you type these notes at home you can get them to school by: • email them to yourself • email them to Mr. Hartmannchartmann@plattscsd.org • Flash drive (check ahead of time if it is compatible) • Each group should have 4 PowerPoint presentations when finished. There is no need to complete a PowerPoint for Meade or Forrest

Who: Nathan Bedford Forrest What: 1) Confederate 2) Shiloh, Vicksburg When: 7/13/1821 (TN) - 10/29/1877 (TN) Where: planter, slave owner and trader, Memphis City Alderman, one of the richest men in the South Why: -no prior military training but was promoted to colonel and given his own regiment because he was a planter who volunteered for the war -44 of his slaves served under him until the end of the war, “Finer Confederates never fought” -reported that he had 30 horses shot out from under him during the Civil War -associated with starting the Klu Klux Klan
