  2. 2 Peter 1:3-4 “As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

  3. Precious Promises • “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more”(Hebrews 10)

  4. Hebrews 10:16-18 “‘This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,’ 17then He adds, ‘Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.“ 18Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.’”

  5. Hebrews 10:1-4 “For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. 2For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.3But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.”

  6. Precious Promises • “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more”(Hebrews 10) • “Not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able”(1 Corinthians 10:13)

  7. 1 John 2:15-17 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. 17And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

  8. 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” Note a few of the ways “of escape”

  9. Genesis 39:11-12 “But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12that she caught him by his garment, saying, ‘Lie with me.’ But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.” Run!

  10. James 4:7-8 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” Resist!

  11. Psalm 119:11 “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Study!

  12. 1 Peter 2:21-22 “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 ‘Who committed no sin,         Nor was deceit found in His mouth.’” Emulate Jesus!

  13. Precious Promises • “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more”(Hebrews 10) • “Not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able”(1 Corinthians 10:13) • “His ears are open to their prayers”(1 Peter 3:12)

  14. 1 Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.”

  15. 1 John 3:22 “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

  16. 1 John 5:14 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

  17. Precious Promises • “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more”(Hebrews 10) • “Not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able”(1 Corinthians 10:13) • “His ears are open to their prayers”(1 Peter 3:12) • “If children, then heirs”(Romans 8)

  18. Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”

  19. Matthew 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”
