  3. General Presentation of Public Transport Companies Introduction: Public transportation is a major feature of large cities across the world. Europe is well known for its user friendly mass transit where as the United States struggles to provide adequate service to residents. Maybe with the added benefit of sideline services transit companies can increase revenues and improve the level of service available.

  11. Advertising with PMDP • Outdoor advertising The PMDP offers bus ads and commercial posts. The bus ads prices depend on type of a bus and area used for advertising. Every customer can choose based on their needs.

Advertising with PMDP • Outdoor advertising PMDP has the same advertising format like MCTS offers; a 4 week advertising rate of$88 per bus, the printing and installation rate of from $97 per bus is not included and final price depends on type of a label. However the most popular formats of bus ads are: Mobilboard with the advertising rate of $286 and the installation rate of from $728 per bus. Full-area label with rates up to a type of a bus of $340-$621 and of $1160-$1500

  13. Advertising with PMDP • Indoor advertising PMDP offers a big variety of indoor advertising products such as broadsheets, hand holder advertising, space for ads publications and newspapers, promotional fare ticket or city screen.

Advertising with PMDP Cityscreen • PMDP has installed cityscreens in 35 buses (2 per bus) • The main purposes of cityscreen are: • Commercials – product and service offers • Promotional and special events, commercial quizzes or puzzles • Other information attracting people’s attention • Broadcasting repeats in a cycle every 60 minutes and is composed of commercials 10 or 30 seconds long repeating at least twice in a cycle • The basic price of a commercial for one week is $146 (10 sec ads) & $480 (30 sec ads) and does not include rate of $15 for creating the commercial

  15. Conclusions & Suggestions • Transit systems bring benefits to all residents of the city. Not only do they receive an alternative way of transportation but additional services. • Companies have additional avenues for advertising and a captive audience to target. • MCTS should continue its sideline services and advertising in an effort to try and boost its main business activity and encourage citizens to use public transportation rather than private. • PMDP should focus more on outsourcing some of their services and then they can put more effort into their main business.
