LED Continues to Grow • OnTheMap for Emergency Management Released • OnTheMap wins the Department of Commerce Gold Medal Award for Scientific/Engineering Achievement • Highest form of recognition at DOC • Data Visualization tools on the horizon • IBM Many Eyes • Google Maps and Google Public Data • New in next OnTheMap release • Race & Ethnicity, Educational Attainment • Spoke and Radar charts to show direction and magnitude of commutation

  3. Expanding LED In New Jersey • Skin LED QWI and Industry Focus to our NJSDC web pages. • Publications: • County Fact books (LED Data by Geography) • Workforce Studies (LED Data by Industry)

Expanding LED In New Jersey • Invite LED to NJSDC Network Meetings • Hands on training • Attend LED program’s quarterly webinars. • NJSDC hosts webinars for LMI field analysts to keep them informed and up to date. • Provides an open discussion forum to field additional questions not covered in webinar

  5. Expanding LED In New Jersey New & Future Opportunities • NJSDC participates on NJ’s Emergency Management Team • Provide Demographic and Commuting info • OnTheMap for Hurricane’s • Work with Legislative Liaisons • OnTheMap Congressional Layers

Expanding LED In New Jersey New & Future Opportunities Provide LED Training • Participated in Advanced LED Analyst Training • Create a group of analysts capable of conducting LED training in their region / state • Three Day training with exercises and “Train the Trainer” type modules • Developing Training for New Jersey • Spring 2011

  7. Opportunities for SDC’s to Assist Training Efforts • LED program looking to raise product visibility and usability through training • SDC’s can help! • While LED is about jobs, many of the product expansion paths that LED is moving toward fall in line with State Data Center customers
