Introductions/Changes • Dr. Dagmar Budikova: Interim Assoc Dean for Research, Technology, and Facilities. • New Chairs in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, History. • Acting Chairs in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Economics, Psychology, and Social Work. • New Tenure-track Faculty: • Dr. MaochaoXu joins us from Portland State University. • NTT Faculty: • Michelle Beard • Pisheng Ding • Introduction of New Ph. New & Ongoing Business • Curriculum Proposal to Change Math Major is now before the Department. Electronic Balloting will begin in the near future. • Program Review of Bachelors and Masters Programs are due in September. Please be mindful of requests for information. • NCATE reports are being written by Secondary Committee. Again, please be mindful of requests for information. • Roger Eggleton is working on getting pictures of all faculty and staff for displays.
More Business • NCA’s Higher Learning Commission wants us to classify all course offerings into three categories: • 100% Online. • 75% or more of instruction and interactions take place online. • Less than 75% of instruction and interactions take place online. • Provost’s Office wants list by September 1st. • Please consider signing up for ISU’s Emergency Alert System through iCampus. • Changes to ASPT Policies being proposed to Academic Senate. Disposition Concerns Forms • Only apply to teacher education majors. • Three unresolved forms means a student cannot student teach. • By filing a disposition concerns form, you are helping identify potential problems early to help students and programs. • Can identify a student’s major through iCampus • After 10th class day, Department will help identify teacher education majors in lower-level math major courses.
New Office Equipment • New Department Printer in 313. Old printer moved to 322A. • New FAX machine in 313A • New Computer in 313A • New Document Scanner in 313A. Accessed through computer in 313A. Use the CapturePerfect program to access the scanner.
Reminders about Office Policies • Duplicating • If 10 or less copies, use Xerox machine • If more than 10 copies, use digital duplicator designated for faculty • If there is a problem with equipment, please ask office staff for help • If you want the office staff to duplicate something, we ask that you give the office staff 48 hours to get the job done • The printer is not supposed to be used for duplication.
Office Policies (cont.) • Printer • New Printer in 313. Alternate Printer in 322A. • Not supposed to be used for duplication (see above). • Please be considerate about printing time-consuming jobs. Try to print those during off hours or during times that are not right before a set of classes begin. Consider using 322A printer. • When appropriate, please consider printing on both sides of the paper.
