Requirements • Freshman Admission Requirements • Students apply for admission to a specific college and academic program. Admission requirements vary by college and curriculum. Decisions about freshman admission are based primarily on high school courses (see pre-college curriculum below) and grades, performance on the ACT or SAT, and high school rank. • First-time freshmen applications and credentials received after the following application deadlines will be reviewed on a space available basis: March 1st - Fall Term • November 1st - Spring Term • March 1st - Summer Term • Applicants to the School of Music must also pass an audition. Admission to the School of Nursing is a two step process with the new freshmen being admitted to the Lower Level Division and then reapplying to the more competitive Upper Division as a Junior. • Pre-College Curriculum (PCC) (effective for Fall 2006)All freshmen must have their pre-college curriculum (PCC) met. Pre-College Curriculum involves the successful completion of: • Four credits of English/Language ArtsEnglish I, English II, English III, English IV (or AP English) • Three credits of MathematicsAlgebra I, Algebra II, Geometry (see note below on substitutions) • Three credits of ScienceCredits to include life science, physical science, and earth/space science (at least one lab) • Three credits of Social StudiesFrom U.S. History, Economics, Government, World Geography and World Civilization • 1/2 credit of Health • 1/2 credit of Physical Education • One credit of History and Appreciation of Visual, Performing ArtsHistory and appreciation of visual and performing arts or another arts course that incorporates such content. • Two credits of Foreign LanguageRequired or demonstrated competency in a foreign language. • Seven credits of Electives (five rigorous credits)Recommended strongly: one or more courses that develop computer literacy

Housing • Email Corrections: Due to technical difficulties the email notifications that were sent out on 6/30/2008 are incorrect especially roommate information. We apologize for any inconvience that this may have caused. You should expect to receive a correct email notification by Friday July 11, 2008. • Early Arrival Request: The resident halls open August 21st. If you need to move in before this dated, you will need to fill out an Early Arrival Request. • Off Campus Housing: The new Off Campus Housing site is now live. • Fall 2008 Assignments: All residents who applied for housing before May 13th 2008 should have received email messages with their room and roommate information in their university account. If you have not received your message, then please email housing@louisville.edu • summer housing application is now online. • First Year Students: The Housing Application is available. Be sure to read the Fall 2008 Housing Information.
Sports • 2008 Football Kickoff Luncheon Sold OutLOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 2008 University of Louisville's annual Football Kickoff Luncheon, scheduled for Thursday, August 14 at noon in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Louisville Downtown, is sold out. A total of 1,200 tickets were sold for the event that will feature head coach Steve Kragthorpe and the entire 2008 football team.
