  3. Fox had two red socks. Knox had two blue socks. Sue sews Fox’s socks. Slow Joe Crow sews Knox’s socks.

  4. Fox grew and needed four red socks! Knox grew and needed four blue socks! Sue sewed two more red socks for Fox. Slow Joe Crow sewed two more blue socks for Knox.

  5. Fox gave Knox one red sock. Knox gave Fox one blue sock. “I want my sock back!” said Knox. “But sharing is caring Mr. Knox! And now our feet look more colorful!” said Fox.

  6. Sue sewed one plus half of Fox’s red socks and half of Knox’s sock together for fun! It was so much fun, she did it again! She then sewed the two pairs together in a funny shape! Slow Joe Crow sewed one plus half of Knox’s socks and half of Fox’s sock together for fun! It was so much fun, he did it again! He then sewed the two pairs together in a funny shape!

  7. Fox and Knox made a circle of bricks and blocks. The chicks in the middle of the circle ran away! “Here’s a new trick for you Mr. Knox. Let’s go to the middle of the circle and take off our socks!” said Fox. Fox and Knox left the circle after attaching their socks to the fishing poles.

  8. Fox and Knox went to the ends of the circle and pulled on the fishing poles. “The bricks and blocks moved apart!” said Fox. “The socks moved away from each other!” said Knox.

  9. Then the socks got mixed up and were far apart. The chicks came back and made two circles around the separated pairs of socks. Meanwhile, Fox and Knox were resting under a tree because they were so tired! Poor Fox and Knox!

  10. Fox and Knox took the bricks and blocks from the circle and made two smaller circles around the socks. The chicks ran away again! Fox and Knox attached socks to the fishing poles and with the help of Sue and Slow Joe Crow, they pulled the fishing poles in both circles.

  11. “The bricks and blocks moved apart!” said Fox and Knox. “The socks moved away from each other!” said Sue and Slow Joe Crow.

  12. The chicks came back and made circles around each pair of socks. “Make a circle, make, make a circle!” said the chicks. Then Fox and Knox and Sue and Slow Joe Crow all went to the middle of each circle.

  13. Fox and Knox then made four circles around the chicks.

  14. In the end, there were four small circles of chicks and bricks and blocks around the socks. “Ta da! Did you like the trick Mr. Knox?” asked Fox. “Yes, yes!” said Knox. “It was so much more fun than those annoying tongue twisters Mr. Fox!” said Knox.

  15. At the end of the day, Fox and Knox rested under the maple tree and shared funny stories about the exciting and tiring day! They realized how much they liked hanging out and soon became best friends! Moral: Don’t judge a book by its cover! Underlying meaning: Steps of Meiosis
