  3. Leonardo da VinciInnovation Projects - European Priorities • Why the project was necessary?(needs addressed - problems solved): • There is a growing need in all partner countries to employ more staff in the field of child care. • Even though, the mobility of students in social and health care training has increased, to transfer the learning outcomes from one learning context to another is still a challenge. • There is a need to establish a transferable system for social, health care studies and mobility.

  4. Leonardo da VinciInnovation Projects - European Priorities 4. How did the project do this? (process – implementation): • The aim of the project was to develop a study unit in child care, which can be accepted by partner institutes and can be transferred from one country to another. • The unit was defined according to learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills and competences. • The unit was tested with students in ongoing LdV mobility projects. Before testing and piloting the study unit a training programme was arranged for teachers and supervisors on how to use Ecvet.

  5. Leonardo da VinciInnovation Projects - European Priorities 5. Who implemented the project? 6. Leonardo da VinciInnovation Projects - European Priorities 6. What did the project achieve? (results with regard to European priority): • The project has increased the transparency of qualifications and mutual trust between the partners. It also helped to understand the importance of ECVET system and strengthened the cooperation in student mobility. • ECVET Handbook has been produced for teachers, trainers, employers and students who are involved in child care education and training. • The handbook contains the main principles of ECVET and its implementation in child care studies. It presents the unit of qualification for child care, the process of developing the unit and the assessment forms.
