Independence Example 1 - Venezuela • Venezuela gained its independence from Spain at the beginning of the 19th century under the leadership of Simon Bolivar • Read the Primary Source provided, figure out what each of the following terms means from the context, and write down the definition • Also, mark when Venezuela gained its independence on your timeline
