Functions of Regional GOLD Coordinator (I) • Encourage and help form GOLD Affinity Groups in the Region by mentoring GOLD leaders, assisting in the establishment of GOLD Affinity Groups • Maintain communication links with GOLD leaders in the Region. • Recruit leaders by working with the Regional Student Activities Committee to identify future GOLD leaders.
Functions of Regional GOLD Coordinator (II) • Promote participation in IEEE activities (e.g., conferences, Chapters, GOLD groups, etc.) to GOLD members at various events. • Provide reports to Region Director

Objectives - GOLD Projects in 2005 • Reenergize activities in IEEE GOLD Affinity Groups. • Networking IEEE GOLD members in Region 10. • Search for new IEEE GOLD leaders and encourage them to participate. • Start up new IEEE GOLD Affinity Groups in most of the Sections in Region 10. • Provide infrastructures for sharing information and experiences. • Provide soft-skills educational activities for GOLD member • Spread IEEE GOLD information to all IEEE Sections.
SAC and GOLD are collecting ideas how to increase interactions betweenStudent Branches and the Sections.
Organize Joint GOLD / SAC Events (Committee , Regional and Section Levels) For instance: acquiring speakers, tours, IEEE funds for events/projects (at descretion of section), section-level volunteering, sharing the structure of IEEE at the section level, etc.

2006 R10 GOLD Congress • Participants • GOLD leaders appointed by Sections • Guest Speakers (International speaker) • Some R10 Excom. Members • Target participant number is 30. • Registration Fee is USD 200. • Financial support • Accommodation – economy price supported by R10. • Catering – R10 and partially supported by Beijing Section. • Transportation – Section and partially supported by R10
Continuing Strategies for promoting GOLD Activity in R10 for 2005 2006 • Regional support for international GOLD activities in R10. • Organized 2005 R10 GOLD AF Meeting 2006 Action: Co-organize GOLD Congress in Beijing with Student Congress
Continuing Strategies for promoting GOLD Activity in R10 for 2005 2006 • Increasing publicity of successful GOLD activities and regional support of GOLD activities. • Web-based publicity 2006 Action: R10 GOLD Home Pages & Links. • Web-based GOLD Tools 2006 Action: R10 Video Web-Based Lecture on Professional Enhancement for GOLD. • Project-based support from R10 2006 Postponed to future.
