  2. Birth • Dorothy Parker was born on August 22, 1893 • She lived in West End, New Jersey • Her parents were Eliza Marston (MOM) and Jacob Rothschild (DAD)

  3. Childhood • This made Dorothy Parker have a bad childhood • As a result of this she accused her father of being physically abusive • Mom died when Parker was five years old In July 1898

  5. Growing Up • Dorothy Parker started her life as a dance instructor at the age of 16 • Shortly after she decided to write • Things Such as: short stories, poems ,and screen writing

  6. Brother & Father • Then Parker’s father died in December on the 28th in 1913 • Parker’s brother, Henry, died a couple years before their father in a plane crash

  7. First Poem • Dorothy Parker published first Poem in 1914 • “Any Porch” • It sold for $12
