  3. Paramount Pictures Hunted and Disturbiaare two films in the thriller genre distributed by Paramount Pictures within the last ten years. Through looking their recent films, I can see that they are mainly romantic comedies, horror and animations, with not many thrillers.

  4. Warner Bros Pictures Two thrillers distributed by Warner Bros Pictures are V for Vendetta and Insomnia. However the main films by this company are the Harry Potter films and the Batman trilogy.

  5. Columbia Pictures Columbia Pictures have distributed thriller films such as Panic Room and Trapped, but the main genres of film which can be found on their filmology are romantic comedies and teen movies.

  6. Walt Disney Pictures Walt Disney Pictures make only children’s films, animations and fantasies; for example Toy Story, The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean. I did not feel this would be appropriate for my media product which is in the thriller genre, as it does not associate with any of the other films distributed by this company.

  7. Universal Pictures Thrillers such as The Skeleton Key and The Unborn have been distributed by Universal Pictures in the last decade. The main films that Universal are known for are Fast and Furious and Jaws, the latter being a thriller.

  8. 20th Century Fox The main films which have been distributed by 20th Century Fox through the 2000s are Ice Age, X-Men and Avatar, none of which are thrillers. Taken and The Happening however are both examples of thrillers that have been distributed by this company.

  9. The media institution which I have chosen to distribute my product is Universal Pictures, as I believe they are more appropriate in administrating my film to the audience it has been created for. Within Universal Pictures most successful films there is a thriller, ‘Jaws’ as opposed to the genre of the successful films within the other companies within the Hollywood Big 6.
