  3. Aung San Suu Kyi met her husband and taking care of her ailing mother. She told her sons and husband that she wanted to participate in political works and help to bring a democratic country. Late 1988

  4. She was offered freedom if she left the country, but she refused. Then, she was put under house arrest. One of her most famous speeches was Freedom From Fear, which began: "It is not power that corrupts, but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it." 20 July 1989

  5. After being caught, she was first at a loss what to do next. She missed her family and cared about the country so much. But then she braced up.She was under house arrest but still being keen on learning and full of passion to save her country. During house arrest (1989-2010)
