Registration Requirements Be on active duty (and have sufficient time remaining on active duty to complete trade requirements) 1. Be designated in a rating/occupational specialty applicable to an authorized apprenticeship trade 2. Must have formal classroom hours completed for schools- military training satisfies requirements. 3. Possess a high school diploma or GED 4. Pre-Registration Credits S Credit is based on the date of completion of your Rating S date of completion must be 1 FULL YEAR prior to enrollment to be eligible for credit, 2000 hours for each FULL year. Hourly Reports S WHO SIGNS THE HOURLY REPORTS: S Weekly Report: Your work center Supervisor. S Monthly Report: Your Division Officer. S Semiannual Report: Your Department Head, Command USMAP Coordinator or other designated person that has “By Direction Authority”. S Note: You must have three different signatures. For example, if Member supervisor and Division Officer/Gunnery Sergeant are the same person, you must have another person sign member’s logs. Certificate Details S Getting your certificate shows your chain-of-command that you are working to improve yourself. S When you get out of the military, employers want to see your certificate and logbook to verify that you have completed an apprenticeship. Certificate Acceptance S Since employers have learned that apprenticeships are the most cost effective way to get trained employees, thousands of employers do accept the Certificate. Registration Cancellation S (1) At the request of the apprentice. S (2) Unsatisfactory rating in professional competence. S (3) Upon discharge or release to inactive duty. S (4) Termination of work experience for more than one year. S (5) Failure to submit a semi-annual CNET 1560/2Apprentice Progress/Status Report form or no evidence of work experience in the apprenticeship trade for a period of more than one year. Registration Suspension S Suspension of registration is temporary inactivation of an apprenticeship, upon request, for a maximum of one year. The apprentice is not required to submit an on-line semi- annual report or an CNET 1560/2 until six months after suspension is lifted. S The USMAP Administrator will cancel suspended apprenticeships in effect beyond one year unless a semi- annual report has been submitted.
