Job description/Duties • Environmental engineers use engineering and science principles to design solutions that will help with environmental problems. • They work on projects like designing plans to reduce pollution, improving recycling efforts, and increasing the efficiency of waste disposal. • Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems. • I would enjoy all of the responsibilities
Personal characteristics needed • You should be passionate about nature and the environment. • Be willing to do things no matter the cost or requirements. • The best thing is knowing that you’re working to make our environments a better place.
Education • Environmental engineers must have a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a related field, such as civil, chemical, or general engineering. Employers also value practical experience. • Therefore, cooperative engineering programs, which provide college credit for structured job experience, are valuable as well. Getting a license improves the chances of employment.
Work setting • Environmental engineers work in a variety of settings because of the nature of the tasks they do. • When they are working with other engineers and urban and regional planners, environmental engineers are likely to be in offices. When they are carrying out solutions through construction projects, they are likely to be at construction sites. • Generally, you would be working 40 hours a week.
Wages & Benefits • The average entry level starts at about $50,000 • As of September 2014, the annual salary is $85,000 • This is a great income to live on

Personal assessment • This would be great for me because I love nature • If I could help our environment it would make me feel like a better person and a contribution to not society, but mother nature & Earth.
