2. Santa Monica Beach • It is located just north of the historic Santa Monica Pier. This is one of the most popular beaches in LA. At two miles long, Santa Monica Beach seems to go on forever and offers plenty of space to stretch the legs, set up for a game of volleyball, or go for a bike ride. 4. River •  Lake Balboa is located at Anthony C. Beilenson Park. Only Staff on site are the lifeguards at Lake Balboa. Any questions can be answered by calling the number listed above - the Lifeguard Station. •  You can walk around the lake, learn to fly fish, bicycle, sit and relax, let the kids play on the apparatus, or explore. There are many other things to do. Including, tennis, soccer, softball, three golf courses, a Japanese Garden at the Tillman Water Reclamation Plant, walking and biking trails, nature trails, archery range, model airplane park, skate park, and a velodrome.

5. Disneyland • Disneyland is a place where you can wear a funny hat all day and not feel silly about it. Its landscape is engineered to keep anything outside from intruding on your experience. Most rides are on the gentler side and you'll also find shows, parades and daily fireworks in summer. If you don't want to do any of that, just take a kid or two and watch them have fun.

6. Staples Center • It is a large sports arena in downtown LA. It has concerts and is the home to the Los Angeles Lakers and many more sports. The Staple Center hosted over 250 events and has up to 4 million guest per year.

7. California Club Building • The CaliforniaClub is a private social club established in 1888 in downtown Los Angeles, the second oldest club in Southern California. Its building was erected in 1929 and 1930 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

8. The Salt Box • The Salt Box was a house built in the 1880s in the Bunker Hill section of Los Angeles, California. Designed in the saltbox style that was popularized in New England. It was originally located at 339 South Bunker Hill Avenue. In the late 19th century, Bunker Hill was one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Los Angeles and was the site of many elegant Victorian homes.

9. Museum Row on the Miracle Mile • Home to Los Angeles County Museum of Art , Page Museum at La Brea Tar Pits, Petersen Automotive Museum and the Craft and Folk Art Museum. Two of the museums are in Hancock Park, which features tar pit exhibits such as the Lake Pit where you can view and take photos of life sized models of an American mastodon and a family of Columbian mammoths. On weekdays you can watch workers search for fossils that are carefully removed from the tar before they are meticulously cleaned inside Page Museum.

10. The Satellite • The erstwhile Spaceland in Silver Lake has begun a second act as the Satellite. Despite the name change, this dive is still a fixture of the Eastside music community. Musicians, writers, artists and those who love them meet to mingle and take in everything from experimental noise ensembles to alt-rock stars to arena headliners playing covert sets. It’s also a staple of Silver Lake nightlife, with frequent drink specials, and a well-seasoned pool table.

11. Troubadour Myriad musicians have recorded live albums at the Troubadour including three who named their albums Live at the Troubadour. It’s a favorite stop for musicians who live in L.A. and even those who don’t. Arena headliners such as Prince and Coldplay have come here to preview new material. Small enough to lend intimacy to the ballads of a singer songwriter, but big enough for a raucous rock show, the Troubadour is a treasure.

Beverley Center Shopping Mall • Located between Hollywood and Beverly Hills, the Beverly Center features anchor stores Bloomingdale's and Macy's, along with 160 specialty stores, restaurants and a large theatre. It's almost always packed to the brims with shoppers from all walks of life, reflecting L.A.'s diversity.

13. Chateau Marmont • Chateau Marmont, a discreet movie star hideaway since it opened in 1929. It attracts celebrities to its popular Bar Marmont, see and be seen restaurant, and private guest bungalows.

Spago Beverly Hills Restaurant • One of many Beverly Hills restaurants that draws more than its fair share of celebrities, Spago is perhaps Wolfgang Puck's most famous restaurant in the United States. Winner of the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Service Award in 2005 and the Wine Spectator Grand Award in 2010, Spago turns out exactingly presented gourmet fare at prices to match. The executive chef, Lee Hefter, designs his menu around seasonal produce, and seafood and pastry chef Sherry Yard's desserts are worth saving room for.

Its extensive hilly area forming a natural boundary between Los Angeles and the Mojave Desert, crossed by several winding roads and many trails. Good for camping, hiking, canyoneering, fishing in reservoirs and streams, and skiing during the winter.

17. Heart Of Hollywood Hike • The scenic trail is the runyon canyon loop. By no means is this hike a wilderness experience, so if you’re looking for solitude, you might want to try other trails. On the other hand, this is a great hike for people-watching, and it gives beginning hikers a chance to check out the Hollywood Hills and the amazing views at the trail summit, known as Cloud’s Rest.
