  2. Camelot • First appeared in the 12th century somewhere in Britain • Camelot is the most famous mythical castle associated with the legendary King Arthur • It is described as the fantastic capital of Arthur’s realm • It is a symbol of the fabulous Arthurian world

  3. Ambiance • The city was along side a river, downstream from Astolat • The castle was surrounded by hills and forests

  4. The Store of Camelot • The Legend of King Arthur is over 1,000 years old • Arthur was the first born son of King Uther • Merlin advised the King to raise Arthur in a secret place and that no one should know his identity • When King Uther died, their became a conflict over who should replace him • Merlin used his powers and set a sword in a stone • "Whoso pulleth out this sword of this stone is the rightwise born king of all England.“ • All the contenders for the thrown tried to pull the sword and failed • When Arthur tried he was successful
