24/7 access to digital audio books and eBooks. downloaded from WILBOR website • Content includes adult fiction, nonfiction, and K12 titles—all in various genres • All titles purchased remain for the life of the Consortium; titles are not withdrawn
The Collection • Audiobooks: 4321 titles (since June 2008) • eBooks: 5701 titles (since Dec. 1, 2010) • Duplicate copies of popular titles (10,663 copies of ebooks, for ex.) • 25 “Always Available” audio titles; 25 ebook titles Audio formats: wma and mp3 eBook formats: ePUB, pdf, and Kindle
Downloading • Intended for home use • Patrons download and install free software • Content can be transferred to portable devices • Some audiobooks can be burned to CDs • Audio book titles can be downloaded in pieces, helpful for slower connections
The Basics One time: download software or app to manage digital rights & “libraries” • Browse or Search for title (audio- or e-book) • Add to Cart, Check Out (If in circ, add to wait list) • Download—to computer or mobile device • Transfer, if desired, from computer to portable device

“Classes” of Devices Audiobooks • wma-compliant • Mp3 • (mobile) eBooks “nook” class: inc. Sony Reader, etc. Kindle (mobile) + PC and Mac computers
Authentication • Through WILBOR’s EZ-Proxy, or through your automation system • After selecting their “home library,” patrons login using their barcode number (and a PIN, if your library is authenticating through your automated system)
Circ Stats & Cataloging … • MARC records available (paid by WILBOR) • Audiobooks “checked out” for 1 week: eBooks for 2 weeks • Most titles are 1 download-at-a-time; 25 audiobook and 25 eBook titles are “always available,” allowing for unlimited number of patrons downloading title at the same time • Library-specific statistics are available
Circ Policies: • 3 books (audio and/or e-) checked out at one time • 5 books in cart; remain in cart 30 minutes • 3 books on wait list at one time • Loan period: Audiobooks: 1 week (some early return) eBooks: 2 weeks (early return)
