  5. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PES OUTSTANDING CHAPTER AWARD (OCA)? Recognize a PES Chapter for achieving excellence in providing the best set of overall programs and activities for its Members.

  7. HOW DOES THE OCA WORK? • Chapters compete based on size: • Outstanding Large Chapter Award for Chapters with over 100 Members. • Outstanding Small Chapter Award for Chapters with 100 or less Members. • Six levels of Criteria • Weighted point scale for each

  8. HOW DOES THE OCA WORK?(continued) • The Chapter then prepares an OCA report that describes the Chapter’s performance during the previous year.

  9. HOW DOES THE OCA WORK?(continued) • Chapters interested should begin work gathering data during the preceding year. • Award rules, guidelines, suggestions, forms, and samples are on the PES web site. • Questions can be address by the Awards & Resources Committee.

  12. PES OUTSTANDING CHAPTER AWARD • What is the purpose of the PES Outstanding Chapter Award (OCA)? • How does the OCA work? • What is the criteria? • What is the bottom line in the OCA?

WHAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE IN THE OCA? • The winning Chapters (large & small) will receive an Outstanding award banner with their Chapter’s name. • Both winning Chapters will each receive a $1000 cash award. • PES will also fund the travel cost for both winning Chairs to attend the PES Annual Meeting for the award presentation. • The runner-up Chapters, who received a minimum of 39 points, each receive a cash award of $250.

  14. Summary • An article on the Chapter(s) wining the OCA will be sent to the PES E-Newsletter by March 15 th. • The Chapter submits their OCA presentation, describing the Chapters performance, to the PES Awards & Recognition Chair, by April 1 st. • The OCA Selection Committee, which consists of the Membership/Chapters Vice President and five M/C Committee Chairs, determines the winning Chapter in both competitions by May 15 th
